GRADUATION OF THE 45TH FULL-TIME MBA CLASS OF 2016

On July 15, IPADE celebrated the graduation of the 45th Full-time MBA (MEDE) Class of 2016. The ceremony took place in the Carlos Llano Auditorium, in front of faculty and a full house of invited family members and friends.

Rubén Urtuzuástegui, Professor of Organizational Behavior, served as Master of Ceremonies, welcoming graduating students and their guests and introducing the Academic Executive Council. During his welcome remarks, Professor Urtuzuástegui congratulated the assembled graduates, congratulating them for being a class that “will be remembered for their high performance, for being proactive, their enduring commitment to their community, and above all, for being very cheerful.”

Class President, Claudio Guillermo Vázquez Beas, then addressed his classmates, sharing various anecdotes and thanking the family and friends that provided their support during the program.

“Today, in retrospect, we realize that these long two years were actually much too short,” said Vázquez. “There are many different things that identify us as a class, but the most important is the impact that each one of us has had on each other. I’d like to thank all of the people that have made this a truly unforgettable experience…It’s time to go back to the professional world, to face new challenges, to overcome new obstacles, and I know we’re ready. Not because we have unlimited abilities, because we don’t, but because we have 70 friends that have our back, that support us, and that love us. The world will continue to change, but we will always be a part of this community.”

Ernesto Bolio, Corporate Director of the MBA Program, encouraged the graduates to remember the strength with which they faced academic challenges during the program, and to apply it to both business and personal challenges, reminding the graduates: “Now that your time as students is over, it is time to cultivate the virtue of strength. Strength doesn’t exist alone, it is supported by other virtues that you’velearned during your time here at IPADE.”

Dean Rafael Gómez Nava spoke last, challenging graduates to stay true to themselves and to continue to serve their communities, both business and otherwise:

“After two years, 22 months, you are an example of dedication, intelligence, and commitment to the IPADE Program that you complete today,” said Dean Gómez Nava. “Dearest MBA graduates, in the face of the complicated world that we live in today, go forth with positivity, think big, and never forget that the greatest opportunity we have is to serve others.”

The graduates then took an oath accepting to conform to the ethics of their profession, and received their mortarboard and diploma from the Academic Executive Council, confirming them as Masters in Business Administration.

Following the ceremony, graduates, faculty, and guests were invited to a reception in celebration of the Class of 2016.
